How To Screw Your Wife Out Of £600,000

Miami Herald -
A woman whose husband has kept about $600,000 in lottery winnings from her says she has a number for him: half. And Donna Campbell is suing her husband in her attempt to get it.

But American Airlines mechanic Arnim Ramdass disappeared after his wife confronted him about the secret, so process servers haven’t been able to hand him the lawsuit papers yet, Campbell’s attorney said.

“Here’s a guy who for years has spent marital money on the lottery and at casinos, and he’s always lost,” Bruce Baldwin said. “And now he finally wins, and he’s trying to keep it from his wife. That’s pretty low.”

Campbell, Ramdass’ wife since 2005 and girlfriend for five years before that, said she suspected he was hiding something when he disconnected their phone and kept their television off. A postcard offering congratulations on a new house purchase was her final clue.

So Campbell did an Internet search on “Ramdass” and “lotto” and saw a news release from the Florida Lottery about a pool of 17 airline mechanics who won the $19 million jackpot on June 20.

“I said, ‘Do you have any news you want to share with me,’” Campbell recalled telling her husband. “He said, ‘No. What are you talking about?’ I said, ‘The lottery.’”

Ramdass told her he had bought the ticket for his daughter from another marriage, but Campbell didn’t believe it.

“He had been buying those tickets for years, and he never, ever said one of them was for her,” Campbell said. Ramdass and his co-workers have for years pooled their money every Wednesday and Friday for Lotto tickets, Campbell said.

The group opted for the lump-sum payment of $10.2 million, so each got about $600,000 before taxes.

An American Airlines official declined to comment on Ramdass’ job status, citing employee privacy, but his co-workers said he has taken a leave of absence.

“Right now, all I want is justice,” Campbell said. “With time, I will file for divorce.”

GIMMIE GIMMIE!

Ah if only Christmas was sooner; wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of these (preferably the Zelda one). The gold edition of the DS comes with The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and its very own Signature Logo of Zelda emblazoned on the DS itself….Now that made me cream. These two Special Editions are said to be released on the 23rd of this month, however there is no say on the price yet. But rumours have believe that it will be around $150 (but for the UK I’m guessing it’ll be about £100)

2 Weeks Later

Been two weeks since I received my new laptop. This replaces my old laptop that got smashed in the car accident. And I’m not complaining about it. The specs are so much higher, hell their even better than what my PC is. So I’ve mostly been doing everything on here, apart from Graphics Designs since I have found that touchpad mouses are annoying to use.
So basically, these are the specs I went from and to:

Acer Laptop:
AMD 2.4GHz Centinro CPU
512MB RAM
80HDD
14.1″ Screen
Built In Microphone

Samsung Laptop:
Intel Mobile 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
160HDD
14.1″ Crystal Clear Screen
Built In Webcam + Microphone
Bluetooth
DVD RW Lightscribe

So basically Windows Vista can run on it fine now.
On another note, today I left my job at Debenhams as a Gift Advisor over the Xmas period and I’m going to be starting at Currys on Monday; it’s more my kind of thing rather than Home & Kidsware.

Back In The Day

It’s quite funny to think that this style was only just over 20 years ago. But I look at todays society and fashion; and not much as really changed. We went through a phase in the 90’s but it seems as if this style is just comming back round again. They say that no other decade was as bad as the 80’s fashion…..but it’s all back. Even in the music culture, you can hear the cheesey synths being played and the chord progressions are all happening.

Just listening to some tracks from then and it all just sounds like what we’re listening to now, apart from the eletronic drums and vocals are done differently; but the chord progressions and songs are practically the same in Pop culture. The reason why things don’t soun just as “cheesey” or “bad” is because the record industry has upped it’s standards in technology and the synths and everything are so much better than what they used to be. And lets remember it only was just in 1988 when CD’s infact became more mainstream. Kinda scary? And now we’re all into MP3’s and Albums are being sold on Flash Drives, it does seem an improvement…but sadly the music is not.

Just aslong as we don’t bring back the Power Ballads of that time and I’ll be happy.

LG’s 47-inch 47LG75 LCD TV

This very nice slim designed is a new Back Lit HD LCD TV soon to relesed by LG. It’s 47inch screen comes with a very nice slim design, 1080p support and built in speakers. However the actual specifications are not yet to be released. However rumour around is that it has a High Contrast Ratio with Automatic Brightness and Colour Optimizing Technologies. If only I weren’t a student I wouldn’t say no to splashing out on one of these babies.

Solar Powered Bluetooth Headset

Personaly to me this does sound like a good idea. But what of us people in Scotland, the most amount of sun we get is about 3 days a year. But overall I’m never too keen on bluetooth headsets. Yes they do give us hands free and is all good for keeping with the law of not driving with your mobile phone but think they should of atleast had some sort of nicer lookin design, like Lee Evans said “it’s like you’ve gone into a battle with a Walrus and lost”. Thats the perfect description I find for them. So for now I’ll keep to my handsfree kit with my Walkman Phone.
