Some Day

Just what I’ve always thought to be honest, a former Xbox Europe VP stated that he can see gaming consoles dead within 10-15 years. Truthfully I’ve never got into them, I find that their over priced and by the time you’ve got all the games and stuff for it another model from another manufacturer thats better than what you have got comes out. Its an extremely competitive market and if the consoles don’t make it within in about at least a month that to me kinda tells us whether or not its going to go well for that company; a good example of this is the Sega Dreamcast, it was ahead of it’s time in my view therefore not many people were interested in it so therefore after a few months on the market it was pulled from production. At first I didn’t think the PS3 was going to kick off, but now it turns out due to the death of HD DVD that PS3s have been selling really well lately since it is considered a cheap Blu-Ray player.

New Pages

Couple of additions to the website. Two new pages of Ratings/Reviews. One page of Movies I have watched recently or within the past few years and another page of three Music Albums I have most recently listened to. Albums will be updated once every week or two and Movies will be updated constantly throughout the week.

These albums are not new releases their just albums that I am currently listening to.

What Can Pass Art In The Modern Day?

After reading an article [click] on the website Digg. I then signed the petition to stop the “artist” doing the same again and it got me thinking - what can actually pass as art nowadays? If starving a dog to death is passed as art rather than animal cruelty then so could things such as bombing buildings and torturing unwilling people. It seems like humans are persistent on trying to find new shock values, and if they can somehow call it art the Officials will not frown upon it.

Customer Value

In the modern day I question how do companies look upon the “Valued Customer” perspective. We the consumer buy certain material from these companies and expect a certain amount of aftercare with the manufacturer.Sometimes we get treated like royalty but on the other hand sometimes we get treated like we never mattered and we even know deep inside that with big corporate multi selling companies that they don’t really care of a certain amount about if were pleased with the product or disappointed. It only matters to them if it leaves a dent in their ego or actual finance whether or not to take action.

This is my story.

Whats On Your Dock

Recently I’ve been customizing my windows layout; managed to get Windows Blinds/Icon packager/Object Dock all by Stardock. I’ve always preferred the way that Mac OS have the dock at the bottom of the screen and everything and the overall appearance but I’m used to the windows OS way of how you run programs etc. So I thought i’d try my best to combine the two within XP Professional.

On my current dock:
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Cubase SX3
iTunes
Firefox
Reason 3
Twitter
Sony Vegas Movies Studio Platinum 8.0
Windows Live Messenger
My Computer
Recycle Bin

Along with this I’ve also applied the skin of which you can see in the picture, I like the whole idea of the smooth layout and very simplistic look. To me Microsoft have never got the look quite right whereas Mac has, but I find Windows is more user friendly as it has been one of the most popular OS so most people have a better understanding of it. And I’ve seen that many a times; especially in my college courses when we have to apply ourselves to Mac OS which I don’t have a problem with at all.

Memories/FPS

Was browsing the internet on PC Case Mods and came across this lil beauty. AT first people thought it might have been a prop for a Wolfenstien movie. But once they seen it they found out in fact it was a PC modified to look like a radio from Wolfenstien. I really like the idea behind it, as in my opinion Wolfenstien never gets the real respect it deserves. If you talk to most people going into their early 20’s they always seem to recall Doom as being the first ever first person shooter, but it was actually Castle Wolfenstein.

I always remember growing up playing it on my 600MHz PC, especially the last level with the chain gun. And when Return to Castle Wolfenstein came out I couldn’t believe that it took them so long to come out with a sequel. Its only now in the modern day their releasing new versions of games that I grew up playing, Doom 3 came out a few years ago, RTCW came out before that and soon to be released is the new Duke Nukem game. Now thats an old game which is sooo much fun on a LAN party.
But talking about first person shooters, I had a discussion with my friend earlier on today and I’ve noticed that for some reason I find shoot’em ups are not the games to be played on consoles. They originated on PC’s and thats how I’ve grown up with them; I just feel they aren’t the type of games to be played on a console with a controller.

Thats just my personal opinion
