Some Day

Just what I’ve always thought to be honest, a former Xbox Europe VP stated that he can see gaming consoles dead within 10-15 years. Truthfully I’ve never got into them, I find that their over priced and by the time you’ve got all the games and stuff for it another model from another manufacturer thats better than what you have got comes out. Its an extremely competitive market and if the consoles don’t make it within in about at least a month that to me kinda tells us whether or not its going to go well for that company; a good example of this is the Sega Dreamcast, it was ahead of it’s time in my view therefore not many people were interested in it so therefore after a few months on the market it was pulled from production. At first I didn’t think the PS3 was going to kick off, but now it turns out due to the death of HD DVD that PS3s have been selling really well lately since it is considered a cheap Blu-Ray player.
I myself have always been a PC gamer, I may own a SNES and PS2 but that is mostly because the SNES was my first ever source of gaming and I wanted a PS2 because there is only some games you are able to get on that platform. PC games have always been ahead of the console market, and as I stated in an earlier post such games like first person shooters should only be stuck to a PC gaming experience.
But back to this article, they have always predicted that eventually we will be given a box that is for gaming/satellite/cable. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been any recent development into this, as we’re always looking for the next thing into something that gives the consumer more than seperate boxes.
